Welcome
to the Chadds Ford Tavern and Restaurant located in the center of the
historic village of Chadds Ford, a region rich in cultural wealth. The
tavern has been owned and operated by Tom Drane since 1968. This
establishment has a great reputation among the locals for providing
good food at an affordable price. The tavern, also, takes pride in the
fact that it is a family owned and operated business. Tom's daughter,
Kym, manages the restaurant. The tavern area was built in the 1830's.
Today, the fireplace in the tavern area keeps the famous local artists
warm on cold winter nights. Tiffany lamps and hurricane candles light
the dining room. The tables and booths are hand crafted. On the walls,
hang the works of the Brandywine Valley's most gifted artists.
Everything
on the menu is made fresh daily of the finest ingredients and made to
order. Therefore, we ask that you please be patient. We guarantee it's
worth the wait. Tom Drane's weekly trips to Lancaster provide us with
the best quality veal and beef. Selecting the freshest crabmeat makes
our crab cakes consistently one of the best selling entrees every
week. The Chadds Ford Tavern and Restaurant is open seven days a week
for lunch and dinner. Reservations are not necessary but are highly
recommended. The cozy, comfortable atmosphere, along with the warm,
friendly service is designed to make your dining experience most
memorable.
The
Chadds Ford Tavern & Restaurant is located on Baltimore Pike (US
Route 1), one mile south of Route 202. Just across the Baltimore Pike
is the historic Brandywine Battlefield.
